I’m curious to hear and see about how you store your projects and all the supplies that go with them.
I‘ll start. Over the past few months I’ve acquired bags within bags for all my stitching stuff. Everything goes inside a large drawstring bag. My hoops and my seam ripper go right inside. Then I put my actual stitching project in a smaller drawstring bag which then gets put in the larger bag. My floss also has its own small bag (with chickens!). My scissors, needle threader, Thread Magic, and bits of floss ends all go in a small magnetic box which then gets put in the larger bag. I can then take the larger bag anywhere in the house, or even tuck it into my purse to go elsewhere. I suspect I’ve gone overboard with the bags inside bags but it works for me and gives me pleasure.
These are all beautiful. I like my tools and storage to be aesthetically pleasing to my eye. After all, we spend much of our spare time stitching. My Avlea package came and I am going to start stitching on it tonight! The needleminders really are exquisite.
I love that box! So pretty and useful. An embroidery box with an Avlea design sounds wonderful, too.
How clever and talented you are; I love your box.
I need to take some photos of my system. I like your bags quite a bit and your magnetic box is great! Those bags are so appealing, I just want to grab one and peek inside!
I'm a box person, and I've been teaching myself the art of cartonnage, which is related to bookbinding. You build a box out of book board, and cover it with fabric. I just finished a sewing box and am working on boxes for my embroidery things. I like to have separate boxes for separate kinds of work so that all I need to do is grab the right box and all of my tools are there - boxes help me get my neat freak on.
Here's my hand sewing box, and I will share my embroidery boxes as I get them completed. I'm dreaming about a box with an Avlea embroidery design incorporated into the top of the box. I have a few ideas, but they're still percolating....
You’ve given me some good ideas. I have absolutely nothing noteworthy so I won’t post a photo here. Just those plastic zipper mesh bags and they each go into a larger Vera Bradley tote bag. Because I don’t have a lot of things going at the same time, this amounts to perhaps two projects in plastic bags. The tools go into a smaller bag of the same. Of all the things I’ve seen on other websites and videos, I must say your bags really appeal to me.
I love these bags! It has given me some great ideas, thanks!
