Starting a new project definitely did the trick. I stitched a bunch today and enjoyed every minute. It was interesting stitching on ground cloth for the first time. I liked the feel of the fabric very much and it is so easy to see the grids. It was also my first time doing backstitch on a cross stitch design. I felt a little intimidated by the flowers so I jumped right in. By the end of the day doing them was my favorite part.

This is looking so nice! And it looks like you have a lovely day and a nice place for stitching, too.
Three corners done and on to the final one! I'm excited and nervous to complete this pattern and then move onto the finishing work. I've never finished a cross stitch piece before so whatever method I choose, it will be a first for me. I also have no sewing machine, so I'll be doing all hand stitching no matter what I choose. // I posted this picture on my Facebook page, and was delighted when a friend from high school said she and her son (who is, I think, young teen) had been admiring this pattern and how lovely it is. Nice to think this folk embroidery has younger fans too.
Truly lovely! This pattern is definitely on my "soon!" list. (But there are so many Avlea patterns that are also calling .... sigh).
The Rozain bitkit is stitching up in a flash! I finished up the second corner this afternoon. I'm expecting to have the whole thing done in another week or two, and am already debating with myself about how to finish it (pulled-thread hem, or line it and make it a wall hanging?) and also about what project to do next. I'm enjoying this pattern a lot, and highly recommend it to anyone who has been eyeing it.
This is lovely! I find "design features" endearing but mostly when other people make them. I'm learning not to be so obsessive or look too intently at my finished work. For all of the thousands of stitches made, there's a pretty good chance some of them are "design features!"
Done stitching for the day. I managed to get one corner done this weekend, which I’m pleased about. There is one stitch where there shouldn’t be a stitch but I’ve decided this will be my little design feature. Fixing it would mean picking out a LOT of stitches! Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this over the weekend. Hoping to get an hour or so of stitching a day during the week too.
I’ve been back and forth about ordering this pattern. This one or the BitKit. But there are so many that I would like to have , not to mention just plain linen ! So hard to decide.
This is going to be beautiful!
Yay! That’s a great day!
