The power has been out at my house, thanks to a bad wind storm, for the past sixteen hours. I’ve put our sunroom to good use and used the daylight hours to finish Rozain. This is my first ever finished cross stitch and I’m pleased as can be with how it turned out. Tomorrow I’m going to tackle hemming it. Once I do, I’ll put pics of it in it’s final state on this thread. For today, I’m off to start my next project!

Congratulations! I've really enjoyed the progress photos. Weren't you relieved when the last border stitches met? I always hold my breath a little when getting to that part. You did a wonderful job - your first finished piece? Wow.
This is great! Isn't that drawn thread hem fun?
And it is done! My first ever completed cross stitch. Between the stitching and the hemming , I am ridiculously proud of this little mat. I had so much fun learning to hem today.
This looks perfectly prepped!
Beautiful — and nice job on the finishing piece!
And the first step in getting this piece finished is done! Using some fabric Krista sent me I have hemmed a little plain mat. This is my first time hemming anything and it was a real learning process. I think I had the most trouble pressing the mitered corners but watching the tutorial on this site a couple times did the trick. I opted to just learn a plain blind hem stitch this time. Next time I’m finishing up a piece I promise to be brave and try a pulled-thread hem. I am very pleased with my tiny mat. Maybe I will cross stitch a little something on it after the fact.
Let me know if you want me to send you some scrap to practice hemming on. Email me if so: avleaembroidery@gmail.com
Gorgeous!!!
