Thought I’d give variegated floss a try; I like all the colors in this skein.
I texted the intended recipient and asked “Blue, aqua, teal, or purple?”—gave her no clue as to WHY I asked. She doesn’t know about this basket cover. She said “Blue with a touch of purple” so I chose the checkerboard borders color with that info. She is a fan of hydrangeas.
There’s potential for small beads with similar hues on the points of the outer border, or on the edge of a sort of blanket hem technique I saw online. We’ll see.
This could take awhile as I have company for half of September and October. ☺️
Gorgeous, just gorgeous!
Pressed and ready for hemming. I didn’t complete the pattern—did not do decorative backstitching which would have made this prettier, and I decided against beading on the edge points which would have been pretty but doesn’t fit with “done.”
I enjoyed this pattern and the variegated floss and will use it again.
Your floss choice completely transforms the design in a way that’s lovely! I have some flosses I’ve been saving for an Avlea design, and you confirmed how beautiful this can be. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice!!
