Hello fellow stitcher! I’ve begun working on my first ever cross stitch, the Pascha basket cover. As a mom to 4 little ones, and another on the way, I need as much of a head start as I can get before next Pascha 😝
I am nearing the end of the first side edge and noticing that the space left at the bottom will be larger than the four inches indicated at the top by the pattern, and I’m left wondering if I have done my spacing incorrectly! Ack!
When two cross stitches share corners, should their corners pass through the same hole, or should I have left a thread between them? Does my spacing look alright?
Thanks in advance!
Your stitching looks beautiful and I’m impressed you chose such a challenging first project. You will love using it next Pascha.
Welcome! You've got a lot of future stitchers in your home. I sure hope you enjoy the process - everyone here is super helpful and generous. Any time you have a question or frustration, reach out and somebody will be waiting to help. You're doing great, by the way.
Claire, your stitches are beautiful.
Hi! I hope you wind up liking cross stitch work as much as I do. Welcome to this really great group.
This looks great! Don't worry if you have a little extra fabric--we cut it generously. And, at the corners, do not skip threads or the design will not work out right. Treat it like a grid with one cross stitch in every "hole". If that doesn't clarify things, let us know!
