This is just a quick note to let everyone know that I snapped up the Thessaly Floral embroidery kit with a beechwood hoop as soon as I saw the new kits come up on Krista's site earlier this week. I've been wanting to try surface embroidery for a long time and I was itching to try one of those hoops, too. I'm thrilled to report that the kit is beautiful and that hoop is fantastic. I usually use a much larger hoop and I seem to burn through them frequently. This one has beautiful hardware and it's quite sturdy. The packaging is lovely and I felt like I bought myself a really extravagant present. I have a feeling this will be a real treat to stitch.

I second all of Debera Lynn's comments above! I finished up a small cross stitch this weekend which has been my portable project (as opposed to my large cross stitch which I only like to work using my frame). So, last night I opened up Grecian Griffins and got started. The kit with the hardwood hoop is so nice! And it is such a treat to return to surface embroidery after doing 100% cross stitch for some months. I feel like I'm making faster progress than I used to as well. Last nice I back stitched around the whole outer circle and then got started with the outer weaving that turns it into Pekinese stitch. These Griffins will be for my husband, who saw the pattern over my shoulder on the computer when it released and said, "Oh! I wouldn't mind if you did that one!"
This post just made my day! It's been a bit of a rough week between having a lingering cold and being in the throes of the kitchen renovations (imagine a camping trip and garage sale in your house all at the same time!). Despite all of that, I was determined to get the new kits up on the website and this glowing review just makes it all worth it!
