I also wash with a tiny bit of Orvus soap, no wringing, roll in a towel to blot dry. I lay it out flat on a dry towel and hand fidget it into its shape be it rectangle or square. I check on it a few times in the drying. I don’t pin it. And then when completely dry I iron it. This is such a great pattern and your stitching is lovely.
I agree with Cindy! I hand wash my work, roll the excess water out in a clean towel, then I block it on my rotary mat. I'm a bit of an outlier in that I don't use pins. The markings on my rotary mat help me to keep my work straight as it dries. I check in on it frequently and gently stretch/re-align/fiddle as the work dries and it's generally pretty straight when it's all dry. It's not perfect, but it's close enough for me. I think all yours might need is a few spritzes of water and a bit of a gentle stretch. It's gorgeous!
After finishing a piece, I wash it and block it. Blocking is tedious and I plan an hour of stretching and pinning. It works! Blocking let’s me get my pieces straight. Still, your piece is wonderful, and you should be proud!
