I finished Grecian Griffins this morning. I was looking at the Avlea website one day, as I'm prone to do, and my husband saw this kit over my shoulder and said, "I wouldn't mind if you did that one!" So of course I used that as an excuse to place another order. I had taken a break from surface embroidery for a while, and it was nice to get back to it. I enjoyed stitching this a lot and it seemed to work up fast. I have no idea if that's because it is a more beginner design than I've done before or if that's because I got faster in my work. Either way, I was pleased with how quickly it went. Especially since I was hoping to clear the decks because I've been itching to get started on Krista's new cushion surface embroidery kit. You know as soon as it hits the website, I will be ordering that one. In the meantime, I'm very happy with this piece. And my husband is thrilled and says he knows exactly where he'll hang it in the office. I'm just waiting for the frame I ordered to be delivered.

The frame came from Advanced Craft Making Solutions and now this is hanging on my husband's wall. I love how it looks in this frame! I've ordered other frames before that I liked well enough, but I love this one.
You've inspired me to try this really cool pattern on T-shirts for my nephew who loves all things mediaeval.
Oh, don't you just love the way we get worked to make a specific piece? "I wouldn't mind if you made me that..." rings so familiar!
The new kit's up now! I grabbed one!
Look at you go! This looks fabulous! I should have the new cushion kit out by tomorrow, so stay tuned! I'm working on 4 new designs (Athenian Palmette, Myra Medallion, Canterbury Leaves, and Scottish Rose) and each one will be released as a cushion and hoop kit. I've been wanting to expand my hoop kit offerings for awhile now so I decided to just go all in and get these up as soon as I can.
I think you'll really enjoy stitching on the Essex cotton/linen--it's a bit less dense than the Kona, so super easy to stitch on.
And a great finish it is. Beautiful!
