Pascha 2022

This is my very first cross stitch project of this kind and from Avlea as well, and I am very much enjoying stitching it to gift it to my dear mom. From the moment I saw this design in Avlea's website I knew it was perfect for my mom (red is her favorite color). I have enjoyed the challenge to figure out the steps; however, I am stuck with the flower/star (see photo) and would very much appreciate your help to the steps in order for the back side of the stitches to look all on the same direction, if it is possible, if it isn't, at least to look somehow uniform in each of the four little sections (meaning on the back . I hope that my question makes sense, if it doesn’t, kindly ask me as I am really stuck and need the help. I see some of you have stitched this design and could perhaps help me. I am eager to continue stitching it to give it to my mom. Thank you!

The back of mine does not look like the front at all. I was trying to make the star-like motif to be a neat as possible on the back and I wanted to know if it was possible to have the stitches on the back to be all vertical (all straight lines/stitches on the same direction). I am not sure if someone managed this, I didn’t, but at least I was able to figure out the steps to have all the stitches (X’s) go on the same direction. Are you working on this design? I am happy to share what I have learned on the steps stitching this design if you have any questions. :)

I rarely worry about what the back looks like--I do try to get all of my slants going in the same direction (for example, if I'm working a row, I'll work all the right-leaning section of the X, and then go back and work all the left-leaning sections of the X). Sometimes, you can't get the back perfect!

Thank you, Krista, fortunately I figured it out the next day. I normally pay attention to the back, to the point that I have measured the floss to have a single string per motif. I know is crazy, but I have a fashion, textile and clothing production background and the back/interior of the garments was the first thing that my teachers looked at in fashion school, it’s not easy to change a long time habit and I enjoy the challenge if I am able manage a nice back. (… I know my mom will look at it :))

I have made many mistakes making this piece, but it’s been great to learn this technique, it’s a lovely design!
