I am super excited about the fabric cushion backs! I’m working on the Corinthian Bridal Shawl and I think the navy stripe would work well with it. would the 23x23 be too small?
I purchased that burgundy velvet and can recommend it highly. It is of very high quality, rich and lush in feel, not a trace of thin polyester “velvet.” The color is also very rich and classic.
I've been lusting after that cotton velvet that currently only comes in the scrap bags. It looks so lush and wonderful, that I imagine it would make a super fabulous cushion back. Wouldn't it be decadent to nap on that? The Burgundy color doesn't quite work with my current project queue, so for now I'm still scheming about how I might be able to work it in somewhere.
The cushion back kit that comes with the Corinthian Bridal shawl is 23x23 because the finished pillow is 21x21. But, I don't think the navy stripe fabric will work with the floss colors in the kit. The kit has an option for the coordinating paisley fabric that I chose because it matches the floss colors really well, but if you want something different, the only option I've got right now that would match would be the Kona cotton.
Thank you Krista, that is exactly what I needed to know. The Paisley won't quite work in my house and I am looking for a reason to use the new fabric cushion backs you have. For the bridal shawl I'll use a Kone cotton I have one already. Any suggestions for what design might be nice on Athenian Gauze teal, navy and ivory?
@Lisa Lusardi Ah, good question! I'm working on Baltic Scroll and plan to eventually get a cushion back for it, and was wondering if one of the Athenian Gauze stripe fabrics would work.
I don’t think it would be too small. But I’m assuming then that you are not working the version that is the kit with the cushion back included? The design is a linear one so you can center it in your piece of fabric that is cut as a square. Whatever you use, the cushion backs are square and the design is rectangular, so you have to square up your linen piece.
